Kathryn Henderson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Family Therapist. In addition to her private practice, Kathryn has been employed as a counselor in the Adult Recovery Center (ARC) at Greenwich Hospital, Yale New Heaven Health. Prior employment also included St Vincent's Behavioral Health, Westport, CT, where she was a Treatment Coordinator in the Adolescent IOP. Kathryn offers individual counseling, family and couples counseling, and adolescent (13 years and older) counseling, as well. Kathryn is also a certified Addiction Counselor (CAC), credential in 2014 by the CT Certification Board.
Kathryn is dedicated to creating a therapeutic relationship with every client. Her goal is to help empower her clients to gain awareness of their choices, learn how to control their emotions, to improve their communication and listening skills and to teach them to practice "mindfulness" in their daily lives. This often results in her clients gaining a stronger sense of self, improved confidence, a more purposeful direction in his/her life, and emotionally healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Kathryn uses an integrative approach, combined with a mind, body spirit philosophy when defining treatment objectives with her clients. Other therapeutic treatment modalities and resources based on assessment and presenting problem(s)of the client can be used as well. Kathryn is always happy to do a phone consultation to determine whether she might be helpful to her clients.
